Jaipur: The Public Health Engineering Department (PHED) is set to launch a centralised PHED Billing Engine Portal on April 1 to establish a centralised and standardised system for water billing across the state, officials said.Officials said the portal would help consumers across the state access their present and past PHED bills and the detailed profile of their connections. Consumers could also pay their bills through the portal.“The system will make the billing process faster and more transparent. Now, we will be able to generate water bills in almost real-time just like the electricity discom. For services like duplicate bills or bill rectification, consumers may apply through this portal,” an official stated.The portal is being developed by the AU Bank under its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative.“The portal will strengthen transparency and efficiency in billing operations. RWSCC shall manage the overall functionality and operations of the portal,” another official added.
