Jaipur: The state govt has approved a unified digital monitoring platform to manage distributed renewable energy projects, a move expected to improve the consumer experience, industry operations and renewable energy adoption across the state. The new Distributed Renewable Energy (DRE) Projects Monitoring Tool, approved by the Project e-Governance Mission Team, will be implemented by Rajasthan Renewable Energy Corporation Ltd (RRECL).Ajitabh Sharma, ACS (Energy), said, “The platform aims to integrate the implementation, monitoring and approval processes for multiple renewable energy schemes that are currently handled through separate systems and manual procedures.”The state witnessed rapid growth in decentralised renewable energy programmes such as PM Surya Ghar Muft Bijli Yojana, PM-KUSUM, rooftop solar installations and solarisation of govt buildings. However, the absence of a unified system delayed approvals, duplicated processes and limited generation tracking.Rohit Gupta, CMD (RRECL), said, “The platform will provide real-time data visibility, centralised monitoring and a comprehensive management information system for policymakers and utilities.”Gupta said that for households and small businesses, the new digital system could simplify the adoption of rooftop solar and other distributed energy projects.Currently, consumers often face procedural hurdles due to multiple portals and manual approvals from different departments and power distribution companies. The unified platform aims to allow consumers to apply, track approvals and monitor installations through a single interface. Gupta said, “It will improve scheduling and dispatch decisions for discoms and state load dispatch centres.”Officials said the platform will also provide a scalable digital backbone for future renewable programmes, enabling the govt to monitor scheme performance, installation trends and subsidy utilisation more effectively.
