Jaipur: The state govt cancelled the leave of officials of the food and civil supplies department and ordered strict vigilance against hoarding and black marketing of LPG to ensure uninterrupted supply to domestic consumers across the state.Chairing a review meeting Wednesday, chief minister Bhajan Lal Sharma directed district collectors and other officials to intensify monitoring of LPG and petroleum products and take strict action against anyone found indulging in hoarding or black marketing. He said inspections and continuous monitoring should be carried out at the district level so that common consumers do not face any inconvenience.The chief minister said there is adequate availability of LPG in the state and the supply of domestic cylinders remains smooth and normal. To further strengthen the system, he directed that control rooms be set up at both state and district levels to monitor availability and distribution of LPG cylinders. Sharma also instructed officials to keep a close watch on rumours and misinformation regarding LPG supply and take strict action against those spreading false information. Authorities were asked to regularly inform the public through official channels about the availability and supply position.He also directed that adequate LPG supply be ensured for essential services such as educational institutions, hospitals and other critical institutions. Officials will coordinate with oil companies and gas distributors to regularly review stock levels and supply.Chief secretary V Srinivas said joint teams are being formed at state and district levels to provide information to the public regarding LPG availability and supply arrangements. Representatives of oil companies briefed the meeting on LPG availability and said domestic cylinders are being delivered to consumers’ homes through DAC authentication.The chief minister appealed to residents not to believe rumours and to rely only on official information, and advised them to contact govt helplines 181 and 112 in case of any difficulty.
