Jaipur: Women and girls will be able to travel free on buses across Rajasthan on March 8 to mark International Women’s Day. This facility will be available on buses operated by Rajasthan State Road Transport Corporation (RSRTC) and Jaipur City Transport Services Limited (JCTSL) for one day.According to JCTSL officials, all city and suburban bus services operating in Jaipur will allow women passangers to travel without a fare. Conductors will issue free tickets through electronic ticket machines (ETIM). In case of technical issues, tickets will be issued through ticket books.Officials said the facility will be valid from 12 am to 11:59 pm on March 8.RSRTC also extended the benefit on its ordinary and express bus services. However, free travel will be applicable only within the state limits. If a bus travels to another state, the free journey will be allowed only up to the Rajasthan border.RSRTC administration clarified that the facility will not be available on AC, Volvo, or all-India permit buses. Women travelling on these services will have to pay the regular fare.
