Jaisalmer: Missile debris was discovered near a residential settlement in Badli village, Pokhran area, Sunday evening, prompting immediate response from local authorities and military personnel. The discovery comes in the wake of recent Indo-Pak border tensions, during which several missiles and drones were intercepted by Indian defense forces. The debris was found near Rahim Khan’s settlement in the Badli Nathusar village council area. Upon receiving information about suspicious objects, local police, led by Station Officer Chhatar Singh Devda and Assistant Sub-Inspector Bastaram, secured the area and subsequently handed over the fragments to Army officials for examination.Deputy Superintendent of Police Bhawani Singh confirmed that the fragments appeared to be remnants of a missile that had been lying in the area for past couple of days before being noticed by villagers. This discovery is part of a broader pattern of debris being found in the region, following successful interceptions of cross-border projectiles during recent Indo-Pak tensions. While no casualties or property damage have been reported from these incidents, authorities continue to maintain vigilance and coordinate with military personnel to ensure public safety. Local administration officials have launched an awareness campaign to educate farmers and villagers about the proper procedures for reporting suspicious objects, particularly unexploded ordnance that may be found in agricultural fields near the border region.Superintendent of Police Sudhir Chaudhary has issued a public advisory urging residents to exercise caution when encountering suspicious objects. “We strongly advise citizens not to handle any suspicious items they may find and to immediately report such discoveries to the nearest police station,” said Chaudhary. He also emphasised that sharing images or videos of military ammunition on social media is prohibited by law.
