Jaisalmer: The second sub-committee of the Parliamentary Committee on Official Language Thursday concluded its two-day meeting in Jaisalmer on the use and progress of Hindi in various departments of the Union govt and discussed efforts that are being made to promote the official language.In the meeting, the committee reviewed the use of Hindi in office work, correspondence, training, information boards, websites, and public relations activities, and issued guidelines for maximum use of Hindi. Representatives from approximately 24 central govt departments, including North Western Railway, Food Corporation of India (FCI), Central Ground Water Board, Meteorological Department, Locust Department, Container Corporation of India Limited, Jodhpur; Chief Workshop Manager’s Office, Bikaner; and All India Radio, presented detailed information about the official work being done in Hindi in their respective departments before the sub-committee. Exhibitions highlighting the implementation of the official language were also organized by participating departments.The committee members said effective use of Hindi makes administration more people-oriented and should be adopted with priority in daily work. Members discussed future action plans focused on strengthening training programs, incentive schemes, and monitoring mechanisms for the effective implementation of Hindi in official work. The inspection meeting was attended by committee convenor MP Ujjwal Raman Singh and members Shankar Lalwani, Dr. Sumer Singh Solanki, Maharaja Sanjayoba Leishemba, Dr. Anil Sukhdevrao Bonde, Haribhai Patel, Kuldeep Indora, Tangela Uday Srinivas, and Zia Ur Rahman. A total of 10 MPs from both Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha participated. Members also stressed that Hindi should be implemented in a simple, clear, and effective manner.The Parliamentary Committee on Official Language, chaired by Union Home Minister Amit Shah, comprises three sub-committees. The second sub-committee, which met in Jaisalmer, inspected the implementation of Hindi in 24 central government departments during its two-day review.
