Gehlot calls for probe into all recruitment exams in last 2 yrs

Jaipur: Stating that the future of Rajasthan’s youth cannot be compromised, former chief minister Ashok Gehlot Thursday urged Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma to order a probe into all recruitment exams conducted under his govt in 2024 and 2025, in the wake of revelations of systemic OMR sheet tampering in exams of Rajasthan Subordinate and Ministerial Services Selection Board (RSMSSB).Sharing the investigation report of police’s special operations group (SOG), Gehlot said manipulation of OMR sheets began nearly 9 years ago during the previous BJP govt, and continued into 2026. Calling the SOG’s findings “extremely alarming”, he noted that officials named in the report were actively posted in RSMSSB in 2024 and 2025.Gehlot said his govt enacted a stringent anti-paper leak law providing for life imprisonment, confiscation of property, and a fine of Rs 10 crore. “It was under the Congress govt that an RPSC member was arrested, over 250 accused were held by the SOG, and properties of the alleged paper-leak mafia were demolished,” he said. The former CM citied exams for posts such as information assistant, patwari, junior engineer, LDC, and the common eligibility test (CET) held in the last 2 years. These exams were conducted under the same system and staff now under scrutiny, he said. “With a tainted system in place, the credibility of these exams is under a cloud,” Gehlot said.
