Jaipur: Three people were killed and six others, including three children, were injured after a speeding truck rammed into a private bus that had broken down on the Jaipur-Ajmer National Highway (NH-48), overturning it into a roadside ditch near Mahla village in Dudu early Monday.The accident occurred around 5am under the Mokhampura police station area when around 20 pilgrims from Jaipur were returning after offering prayers at the Sanwariya Seth Temple in Chittorgarh.Police said the bus developed a mechanical fault after its axle broke. The driver had parked the vehicle on the roadside and was attempting repairs when the speeding truck hit it from behind. The impact overturned the bus into the ditch. The truck driver fled the spot after abandoning the vehicle.The deceased were identified as Madhuraj (30), a resident of Ghat Ki Guni; Rahul Harijan (29), a resident of Chandpole and Bhanwar Singh Rajawat (30), a resident of Kanota, all based in Jaipur.Six passengers, including three children, sustained injuries and were admitted to the hospital. Their condition is being monitored, police said.A case has been registered, and a search has been launched to trace the absconding truck driver. Police are investigating the circumstances leading to the accident.
