Jaipur: A 35-year-old woman and her paramour were Sunday sent to judicial custody for alleged abetment to suicide of her husband, who died last year after consuming poison in Jaipur’s Hathoj area.Kalwad police said the accused, Chanchal Sharma and Rakesh Saini, were arrested on June 6 and produced before a court Sunday, which remanded them to judicial custody.According to police, Chanchal’s husband, Prakash Sharma (38), who worked at a private security firm, died Aug 13 last year after consuming poison at his home. The incident took place in front of Chanchal, who was reportedly on the phone with Rakesh at the time.Police said Chanchal and Rakesh were allegedly in an extramarital relationship. The two frequently assaulted Prakash and pressured him to transfer money to Rakesh. In some instances, Chanchal allegedly transferred her husband’s salary directly into Rakesh’s account. The case was filed on Jan 3 this year by Prakash’s mother, Lalita Devi, who alleged that Chanchal and Rakesh extorted her son for money. tnn
