Woman jumps in front of moving train with six-year-old son, both die

Jaisalmer: A 45-year-old woman and her six-year-old son died allegedly after jumping in front of a moving train near Dhudaniyon Ki Dhani in Sadar police station area of Barmer district Monday.The deceased were identified as Sayer Kanwar, 45, and her son Raju, 6. The incident took place about 500 metres from their home, where the mother and child allegedly jumped in front of a train coming from the Munabao side on the Barmer-Munabao railway track.Sadar police station house officer Devi Chand Dhaka said they shifted both bodies to the district hospital mortuary. Statements from family members indicate that the woman was suffering from mental illness. According to relatives, she was undergoing treatment in Palanpur, Gujarat, for the past three years.Police said neither the woman’s parental family nor her in-laws have expressed any suspicion regarding the incident.
