Kota: A 50-year-old man was killed after the van carrying his family hit a roadside railing on NH-27 near Polaikalan village under Simlia police station limits late Thursday night.The deceased, Pappu Harcharn Kushwah of Uttar Pradesh’s Jalaun district, was travelling with his wife, mother, daughter and son, who was driving the van, to attend a family wedding in their hometown.Police said the accident occurred around 11 pm after a tyre detached from a truck travelling on the opposite carriageway, crossed the divider and struck the van, causing it to crash into the roadside railing.Kushwah, who was seated beside the driver, died on the spot after suffering fatal injuries in the collision.Police registered a case against the truck driver on the family’s complaint and handed over the body Friday after postmortem. Further investigation is underway.
