Jaipur: Two men riding a motorcycle were crushed to death by an overspeeding dumper truck near Daulatpura bridge on the Jaipur-Delhi highway late Monday night, while a third rider narrowly escaped after being flung away by the impact. CCTV footage of the accident has surfaced.Police said the accident occurred around 1am Tuesday when three men on a motorcycle were returning from Jaipur. The victims, residents of Raisar village in Jamwa Ramgarh, had come to the city to purchase iron rods for construction work at their homes.The deceased were identified as Mahesh Kumar Gurjar (33), and his neighbour Kailash Yogi (40). Mahesh’s brother, Mukesh, survived the crash.According to police, the three men had stopped near the divider and were waiting to cross the road when the speeding dumper rammed into the motorcycle. “The CCTV footage shows the truck hitting the bike and then speeding away, with its rear wheels running over Mahesh and Kailash. The driver fled the spot immediately after the accident,” a police officer said.Mukesh, who was seated at the rear, was thrown off the motorcycle and escaped with minor injuries. Police said he kept pleading for help beside the injured men, but passing vehicles allegedly did not stop for several minutes.A toll ambulance later shifted the victims to Kanwatia Hospital, where Kailash was declared dead, while Mahesh succumbed during treatment.Police have registered a case and launched a search for the absconding dumper driver.
