Jaipur: The state tourism department is widening its engagement beyond Jaipur, with Jodhpur set to host the inaugural Marwar Travel Mart (MTM) from Sept 20 -22.The Federation of Hospitality & Tourism of Rajasthan (FHTR) has begun groundwork after a two -day review of Jodhpur and the Marwar -Thar region, finalising the event framework, promotion strategy and operational plans.The initiative underscores the department’s push to stage tourism events in cities such as Jodhpur and Kota, spotlighting regional destinations and broadening outreach across the state.At a meeting in Jodhpur chaired by Gaj Singh, senior FHTR members including president of the industry body Surendra Singh Shekhawat and general secretary Tarun Bansal focused on institutional backing for the mart.The MTM is expected to draw tour operators, travel professionals and hospitality stakeholders from across India, opening new business opportunities while positioning western Rajasthan as a hub for heritage, luxury, desert, rural and sustainable tourism.
