Udaipur: Three siblings from Larathi village, in Kherwara police station area of Udaipur district, drowned in Som river Sunday evening after they went into the water to fetch their buffalo from the opposite shore. On Monday morning, their bodies were found floating in the river. With the help of locals, the civil administration and police retrieved the bodies.Dalpat Singh, SHO Kherwara, identified the victims as Nirma (15), Khushboo (13), and Kalpesh (11). Nirma was a Class 10 student, Khushboo was in CLass 7, and Kalpesh was in Class 6. On Sunday evening, the siblings went to the Som River searching for their buffalo. When they saw the buffalo on the other side, they tried to cross the river on foot, but they fell into deep water and drowned. When the children went missing, their family searched for them all night but could not find them. On Monday morning, villagers spotted the children’s bodies floating in the river and informed police and the family.Local representatives and villagers said they had repeatedly requested the local administration to build a bridge here, but no action had been taken. The existing bridge is 2km away, forcing people to cross the river using boats or tubes. TNN
