Jaipur: Slain Chambal dacoit Jagan Gurjar was cremated under heavy police security at his native Bhavutipura village in Dholpur Wednesday. His son performed the last rites amid tight security arrangements.Gurjar’s three brothers were brought from jail under police escort to attend the funeral. After paying their last respects, they were taken back to prison in separate vehicles by teams of the Dholpur STF and district police.Around 100 police personnel, led by Additional SP Shravan Kumar and Circle Officer Mahendra Kumar, were deployed in and around the village to maintain law and order. The body reached the village at around 7.30am.Gurjar allegedly died after being strangled with a towel inside Ajmer High Security Jail Monday. His family has accused fellow inmate Vishnu, an accused in the Kuldeep Jaghina murder case, of killing him. The post-mortem was conducted Tuesday after the family withdrew its protest following talks with authorities.
