Alwar: Akbarpur police in Alwar district Monday arrested seven men who had been absconding for four months in connection with an attack on forest dept personnel, damage to government property and snatching of seized material. Three accused had been arrested earlier.Police said the incident occurred on Jan 17 when a forest dept team received information about illegal felling of green trees near Kali Khol village. When the team reached the spot, the accused fled with a tractor-trolley loaded with wood. The team seized the vehicle and the timber.However, while returning, the team was allegedly surrounded by around 50 people who blocked the road with stones and attacked forest personnel with sticks and batons, injuring several of them. The accused then forcibly took away the seized tractor-trolley and fled.SP Sudhir Chaudhary said an FIR was registered on Jan 18 against 22 named persons at Akbarpur police station.The arrested accused have been identified as Dholaram, Rajesh, Rakesh Gurjar, Mukhram, Sitaram, Ramkhiladi and Roopram, all residents of Kali Khol.Further investigation is underway.
