Jaipur: Following protests by students over alleged lack of transparency in the PhD admission process, Rajasthan University, Wednesday released the subject-wise and category-wise cut-off list for PhD admissions 2026.The students objected to the university’s initial interview list, which contained only candidates’ phone numbers with a remark that they were contacted for interviews. It did not disclose applicants’ categories, academic scores or the cut-off marks used for shortlisting, raising questions over the selection process.Students also alleged that several eligible candidates meeting the prescribed criteria were not called for interviews.NSUI Rajasthan University unit president Manish Meghwanshi said, “Our demand is transparency and adherence to reservation norms in the PhD admission process. The university should also explain why certain eligible candidates were excluded.”He said the administration released the detailed cut-off list after students staged a nearly six-hour gherao of RUPA convener Prof SK Gupta.Students also demanded an impartial inquiry into the entire admission process to ensure justice and transparency for all eligible applicants.
