Jaipur: The state education department Tuesday informed that the Union govt has approved Rs 243.77 crore for Rajasthan under the Strengthening Teaching-Learning and Results for States (STARS) project for various educational activities for the financial year 2026-27.The STARS project is a centrally sponsored scheme implemented with the support of the World Bank, aimed at strengthening the quality of school education and improving student learning outcomes.Officials said that the Project Approval Board of the ministry of education approved activities, including strengthening foundational literacy and numeracy in early grades, developing digital learning assessment systems, building teacher capacity, improving classroom instruction, expanding smart classrooms, promoting vocational education and training, career guidance and fostering ICT-based teaching.Officials added that in 2026-27, special emphasis will be placed on strengthening service delivery systems in schools and making overall educational administration more effective.“During the meeting, the ministry of education appreciated the work being carried out by Rajasthan under the STARS project and directed that the approved activities be completed within the stipulated timeframe. This approval will prove to be a significant step towards comprehensive reforms and quality enhancement in the state’s education sector, providing students with a better learning environment and improved opportunities,” said a senior official from the education department.
