Bhilwara: A 25-year-old man died by suicide after consuming a toxic substance during a govt camp aimed at addressing local grievances in Ropa village of the district.Nityanand Sanadya took the extreme step Thursday during a ‘Pandit Deendayal Antyodaya’ camp organised by the state govt, after submitting an application to the camp in-charge, sub-divisional magistrate Rajkesh Meena, requesting action against encroachment on his share of the family’s ancestral land in Ropa village.Additional SP Rajesh Arya said that Nityanand had returned to his ancestral place from Bundi’s Barudhan village, where he was currently residing, to get his complaint addressed at the govt camp. He expressed frustration over the ongoing encroachment by relatives due to a property dispute stemming from an inter-caste marriage. Despite having previously lodged complaints with local authorities, Nityanand felt that no action had been taken, leading to his desperate plea for help at the camp.Shortly after submitting his application, the young man consumed a toxic substance outside the govt school where the camp was held. Villagers rushed him to community health centre at Pander, then to Shahpura and finally to the district hospital at Bhilwara. Nityanand succumbed to his condition Friday morning.Prior to his tragic act, Nityanand circulated a suicide note on social media and shared it with relatives, detailing his distress over being disowned from his family’s property. The note revealed the emotional turmoil he faced, exacerbated by the encroachment on his land.In response to the incident, the Paroli police have registered a case based on a report from Nityanand’s sister and have initiated an investigation. “The man had been struggling to reclaim his property rights for some time,” a police official said. “His family members had allegedly encroached on his land following a dispute over his marriage.”
