Man crushed to death by speeding crane on Jaipur–Agra highway service road in Dausa

Jaipur: A 55-year-old man was crushed by a speeding crane on the service road of the Jaipur–Agra National Highway at Manpur Chauraha in Dausa district Monday morning. The incident occurred under the jurisdiction of Manpur police station.According to police, the deceased was identified as Kailash Gurjar (55), a resident of Pancholi village, who was walking towards the Manpur Chauraha market. “Around 11am, a crane coming from behind at high speed hit him. Due to the impact, the man was thrown onto the road, after which the crane ran over him. He died on the spot as his head was badly smashed,” said a senior police officer of Manpur police station. The accident was extremely brutal, as the victim’s body was badly mutilated and stuck to the road surface. Blood was splattered across the service road, creating panic among passers-by. Police reached the spot soon after receiving information and took the body into custody. Based on the complaint lodged by the deceased’s son, Tulsiram, a case was registered, and efforts are underway to trace the absconding crane driver. The CCTV footage further corroborated that the crane driver drove recklessly on the service lane. Locals raised serious concerns over the frequent movement of heavy vehicles on the service road near Manpur Chauraha and alleged that, due to several sandstone units along the highway, vehicles including cranes, dumpers, and other heavy vehicles ply on the service road throughout the day.
