Jaipur: Rajasthan Police Saturday announced they will deploy women personnel in plain clothes, conduct decoy operations and step up patrolling at Garba and Dandiya venues during Navratri.Police will draw up security and traffic plans for major venues and maintain vigilance after events end.Women police personnel and Kalika teams will patrol crowded and sensitive venues.Police will set up women’s help desks and display posters and QR codes providing details of women’s helplines, RajCop and other police contact channels. Organisers will be asked to share lists of security volunteers and ensure CCTV cameras and other surveillance equipment are used effectively. Police will also check entry passes and identity documents at venue gates.Teams will monitor entry and exit points, parking areas and routes linking parking lots to venues, with particular attention to lighting and patrolling. Police will meet auto-rickshaw and taxi drivers to encourage them to report suspicious activity and display women’s helpline stickers on public transport vehicles.Youth-CLG members and Suraksha Sakhis will help spread safety information through social media, WhatsApp and other digital platforms before Navratri begins. An officer of additional SP rank will supervise the campaign in each district. Police headquarters will consider recognising Kalika teams and women personnel who perform exceptionally well.
