JMC allots Saras dairy booth to injured street vendor

Jaipur: The Jaipur Municipal Corporation (JMC) has decided to allot a Saras Dairy booth to Reshu Gupta, the momos vendor who suffered serious burn injuries after hot water spilled on her during a police drive on June 19, when Chief minister Bhajan Lal Sharma’s convoy was passing through Jagatpura. The decision was taken to help Reshu, who is the sole earning member of her family and has been facing financial hardship since the incident. Revenue Deputy Commissioner-I Manoj Kumar Verma issued a notice Tuesday asking her to choose three preferred locations for the booth. However, the proposed sites must not fall on a roadside or footpath. The civic body said the allotment is being made as a rehabilitation measure to help her restart her livelihood after the accident. Reshu’s regular income came to a halt after she was injured, making it difficult for her to support her family. The booth allotment is expected to provide her with a stable source of income while she continues to recover from her injuries.
