Jaipur: The Jaipur Development Authority (JDA) has issued land acquisition notices to 27 landholders for around 24,000 square metres in Jagatpura to complete a 600-metre missing link of a sector road off Mahal Road. The stretch, identified in the Master Plan, is considered crucial for improving connectivity to colonies on both sides. The sector road is planned as a 14-km-long, 200-foot-wide corridor connecting the Ring Road with Balaji Crossing on Mahal Road. However, a 600-metre stretch in Prahladpura remains incomplete, where the road narrows to about 40 feet, creating a bottleneck and disrupting traffic movement.“The incomplete stretch is in the Prahladpura area. Due to the unpaved road, there is no direct connectivity between the Prahladpura Industrial Area and the Ring Road,” an official said.Officials said the land acquisition process will move forward through meetings involving the affected landholders and the district administration. Compensation will be paid as per the prescribed rules.“On July 2, the Sanganer SDM and the deputy commissioner of the concerned JMC zone held two meetings with the landholders. Acquisition notices were issued during the meetings,” another official said.Once completed, the missing link will provide nearly 200 industrial units in the Prahladpura Industrial Area with direct access to Mahal Road and the Ring Road. It will also allow motorists travelling from Mahal Road towards Tonk Road to bypass the Bilwa and Prahladpura underpasses.“In the future, the road will also connect to the under-construction cloverleaf on Tonk Road. It will become an important arterial road for residents and commuters travelling through the Jagatpura area,” the official added.
