Jaipur: The Jaipur Dugdh Utpadak Sangharsh Samiti Saturday launched the “M-20 Movement” against the Centre’s ethanol-blended petrol policy, announcing plans to expand the campaign into a nationwide protest. The organisation demanded the immediate withdrawal of the policy and called for an independent probe into the role of individuals, companies and ministers whom it alleged benefited from its implementation and those involved in the decision-making process.Addressing a press conference, Samiti president Raman Yadav said the M-20 Movement would serve as a symbol of resistance for milk producers, youth and citizens opposing the ethanol blending policy and raising concerns over its impact on farmers and the rural economy. He said the agitation would be carried out through peaceful and democratic means. As part of the campaign, the Samiti announced that it would symbolically send “M-20 blended milk” — a mixture of milk and water — to BJP ministers supporting the ethanol-blended petrol policy. Yadav said the gesture was intended to question the acceptance of blending in fuel while highlighting concerns over its implications for farmers and consumers. He further alleged that the Centre legitimised adulteration in the name of blending, claiming the policy adversely affected consumers, rural transportation and the agriculture- and dairy-based economy. He said the movement drew inspiration from a recent symbolic protest by Jaipur milk producers, during which farmers displayed milk-water mixtures labelled M-0, M-20, M-50 and M-100 to oppose the ethanol policy.
