Jaipur: Players from Jaipur brought glory to the district by delivering an outstanding performance and winning gold medals in both categories at the Under-19 and Under-17 state-level chess championship held in Khudala-Falna as part of Rajasthan’s 70th District and State-Level Sports Competition (2026-27).Jayendra Chaturvedi, secretary of the Jaipur District Chess Association, stated that players from Jaipur delivered an outstanding performance at the Rajasthan U-17 state-level chess tournament, showcasing their talent in both the boys’ and girls’ categories. They clinched the state champion title in the girls’ category, while in the boys’ category, Jaipur players achieved remarkable success by securing the second, third, and fourth positions.Players from Jaipur delivered an outstanding performance in the U-17 boys’ category as well. Jaipur’s Rudradaman Mertia secured second place with 6.5 points, Bhavya Gupta took third place with 6.5 points, and Siddhant Chaturvedi finished fourth with 6.5 points. Thus, three players from Jaipur secured spots in the top four of the boys’ category.
