Jaipur: Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) Thursday arrested a forest guard posted at the Talwara forest outpost under Garhi forest range for allegedly accepting a bribe of Rs 5,000 from a complainant in Banswara.Bhupesh Patidar allegedly demanded the bribe to forward the complainant’s forest land lease file and hand over the related documents. The complainant had been cultivating land outside the notified forest area after allegedly occupying it several years ago. Forest Department was verifying the land and preparing a file to issue a lease.According to ACB, Patidar initially demanded Rs 6,000 during verification. After the complainant asked him to reduce the amount, he allegedly agreed to accept Rs 5,000.ACB said further questioning of Patidar and a search of his residence were underway. Further action was being taken under the supervision of ACB Additional DG Smita Srivastava and IG S Parimala.ACB said a case would be registered under the Prevention of Corruption Act and further investigation conducted.
