Cong leaders meet DGP to protest Jakhar’s arrest

Jaipur: Pradesh Congress Committee chief Govind Singh Dotasra, Leader of Opposition Tikaram Jully, and NSUI national president Varun Chaudhary met director general of police (DGP) Rajeev Kumar Sharma at police headquarters Monday. They registered their protest regarding the arrest of NSUI state president Vinod Jakhar and the attack on NSUI students with weapons during their protest against the weapon worship program at Rajasthan University recently. They also protested against the suppression of NSUI students’ rights and the failure to register an FIR based on the complaint presented by the students. They demanded an impartial investigation into the matter, action on the complaint presented by the injured NSUI students, and strictest action possible against those guilty of attacking with weapons. A condolence meeting was organised Monday at the Rajasthan Pradesh Congress Committee headquarters to pay tribute to the former Leader of Opposition in the Rajasthan Legislative Assembly, Rameshwar Dudi. During the meeting, a condolence resolution was read by the Rajasthan Pradesh Congress Committee regarding Dudi’s demise. The resolution, along with an introduction to Dudi’s life, praised his contribution to the development of the state, farmers, and people of all communities, and expressed grief over his untimely demise. tnn
