JAIPUR: Panic gripped Tonk district in Rajasthan on Monday after a leopard strayed into a liquor shop in Todaraisingh town, attacking two men before forest officials tranquilised and rescued the animal, news agency PTI reported.According to PTI, the drama unfolded when the leopard first attacked a man standing outside the liquor shop. Moments later, the big cat dashed into the shop, where it mauled a salesman, triggering panic among customers and residents in the area.Both injured men were taken to a nearby hospital for treatment, officials told PTI.The incident sparked chaos as a large crowd gathered outside the shop while police and forest department personnel rushed to the spot. Officials cordoned off the area and launched a rescue operation, while a specialised team equipped with tranquiliser guns was called in.Forest department officials said a rescue team from Jaipur Zoo reached the spot and successfully tranquilised the leopard, estimated to be four to five years old, before capturing it safely.The entire incident, including the leopard’s sudden entry into the liquor shop and the ensuing panic, was captured on CCTV cameras, officials said.
