Businessman killed by unidentified assailants in Jhalawar

Kota: A 60-year-old merchant was fatally attacked with sharp weapons by unknown attackers in Jhalawar’s Mandawar town, early Monday morning. Authorities registered a murder case against unidentified persons at Mandawar police station.According to Mandawar police station SHO Mahaveer Prasad, Surendra Mewara, a resident of Mandawar town, was assaulted by approximately 5-6 unknown attackers while he was returning from morning prayers at a temple near his agricultural land around 6am Monday. The attackers escaped after the incident. Mewara, who suffered severe injuries, was taken to a hospital where he later died during treatment.The motive for the deadly assault remains unknown at present. Following a complaint from the deceased’s son, police registered a murder case against unidentified suspects under BNS sections, and investigation is going on. The deceased’s body was handed over to the family members after post-mortem Monday afternoon.Local sources in Jhalawar said Mewara had cement and Bajri business. He previously received a life sentence with five others in the Sattu Choudhary murder case approximately a decade ago and was currently on bail.
