Jhunjhunu: A bus collided with an electricity pole on the hill of Mansa Mata in Jhunjhunu Thursday after it lost control due brake failure. One person died while nearly two dozen passengers were injured in the accident. The injured were taken to govt hospitals in Paunkh and Udaipurwati, where they received initial treatment before being referred to Jaipur and Sikar. Seventeen injured persons who reached Paunkh were referred to Jaipur, while all five injured who reached Udaipurwati were referred to Sikar. Police said, a family from the Sanganer area of Jaipur had a wedding in Guda Paunkh. A ceremony was organised at the Mansa Mata temple complex. After the event, family members were returning to Jaipur by bus when the brakes failed in the hilly area, causing the bus to become uncontrollable.To prevent the bus from falling into a deep gorge, the driver managed to stop it by colliding with an electricity pole on the side. However, the bus caught fire due to the electric current. The passengers managed to jump off and save themselves. However, two dozen of them sustained injuries. They were taken to hospitals in Paunkh and Udaipurwati by ambulance and private vehicles. Among them, Dhur Singh (60) died, and all the injured were referred to Jaipur and Sikar.
