Kota: A pilgrimage to Puri in Odisha has turned into an agonising ordeal for a Bundi family after a 46-year-old man, identified as Rajkumar Dadhich, disappeared there nine days ago. Though an FIR was lodged by his family on Sept 17, he is untraceable. On Monday, former director of Rajasthan Seed Corporation and a Congress member, Charmesh Sharma, came forward to assist the grieving family and filed a petition addressed to President Droupadi Murmu. A formal complaint to National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) has also been sent.According to Kusum Lata and Ganesh, Dadhich’s wife and brother, respectively, he boarded a train from Kota to Puri with fellow pilgrims on Sept 12. Dadhich, a resident of Nainwa, stepped off the train when it halted at Sakhi Gopal station on Sept 14, but failed to board it when it departed. All his belongings, including money, were left behind on the train. Dadhich’s mobile phone that was with him went dead shortly after.The police tracked the mobile’s signal and his last known location was recorded on Sept 14 near a hospital adjacent to the railway station. This has increased the family’s tension as Dadhich suffers from diabetes and requires regular medical care.SHO of Nainwa police station, Sahadev Meena, said efforts are on to trace his location.Charmesh Sharma’s appeals urge both the Odisha state govt and Puri administration to conduct an immediate, targeted search in and around the Sakhi Gopal region to ensure Dadhich’s safe return to his family.
