Jaipur: City police Friday arrested a 58-year-old director of a real estate company in an alleged cheating case.The accused,identified as Satya Narayan Gupta of Shastri Nagar, is also a chartered accountant and has a long criminal record. Police said he is listed as a history-sheeter of the Vidhyadhar Nagar police station, with 81 cases already registered against him in Jaipur.According to police, a woman named Chanchal Chaudhary filed an FIR in 2023 at Murlipura police station against Gupta and others. She alleged that she and some landowners partnered with Gupta to develop a multi-storey building on vacant land in Jaipur. A company was formed, giving 90% shares to the landowners and 10% to Gupta.When two shareholders later sold their stakes to Chanchal, she handed the paperwork to Gupta for the transfer of shares in her name. Instead, Gupta allegedly misused the forms and transferred a large portion of her shares into his own name.Police said Gupta betrayed the trust placed in him and cheated the complainant. He was arrested and produced before court.
