Jaipur: Forest department has sanctioned Rs 60 lakh for advanced anti-poaching infrastructure in the newly notified Ramgarh Vishdhari Tiger Reserve. The funds will be used to set up three anti-poaching camps and install a cutting-edge surveillance system.A forest official said the new system mirrors successful models operational in Sariska, Ranthambhore, Jhalana, and Mukundra reserves. “The anti-poaching camps will be located at Keshoraipatan, Indergarh, and Bhopatpura, with each facility costing Rs 20 lakh,” the official said.The surveillance system features high-resolution cameras capable of capturing images from up to two kilometres away. These are equipped with night vision, thermal imaging, and infrared technology. Mounted on rotating towers taller than television transmission structures, the cameras will provide 360-degree coverage of the forest.“Each surveillance tower will have five cameras—four monitoring the forest perimeter and one securing the tower equipment,” the official added. The system will be connected via fibre-optic internet and satellite, ensuring uninterrupted operation even during adverse weather conditions.
