Ajmer: A buisnessman in Ajmer recieved a death threat and an extortion demand of Rs 2 crore from callers claiming links to the Rohit Gidhara gang Thursday.According to police, BJP member and businessman Jitendra Rangwani (43), received a WhatsApp call from an international number in the evening while he was at a salon.The caller identified himself as Rahul Patepuria and claimed his associate was Virendra Charan. He said they were part of the Rohit Godhara gang and demanded Rs 2 crore from him. He further threatened to kill Rangwani if the money was not paid and warned that the ‘terror of Kuchaman Rulania’ would be repeated.Police said that the caller also asked Rangwani to visit the SP office to verify his voice, adding to the intimidation.Following the threat, Rangwani lodged an FIR at the Haribhau Upadhyaya police station. Police have registered a case and are tracing the origin of the call.Rangwani is a liquor contractor who operates four shops in Ajmer and had contested municipal elections on a BJP ticket five years ago.
