Air India crash in A’bad: Bodies of three victims from Udaipur identified, cremated

Udaipur: The bodies of three victims from Udaipur who died in the Ahmedabad plane crash were handed over to the families Saturday. The body of Vardi Chand Menaria from Rundeda village in Udaipur district, who died in the Ahmedabad plane crash, was handed over to his family late Saturday night. The family returned to village Rundeda Sunday early morning and the cremation took place in the village at 9.30am. His sons, Dinesh and Deepak, performed the last rites. Three police officers accompanied the body from Ahmedabad, and Vallabhnagar police were also present. Former Vallabhnagar MLA Preeti Shaktawat and former Mavli MLA Dharmnarayan Joshi also attended the funeral.The bodies of siblings Shubh and Shagun Modi were identified Saturday evening and handed over to the family Sunday morning, after which the last rites were performed at Ahmedabad crematorium around 2pm. For the family of Prakash Menaria, the wait is not over yet since the DNA test for confirming the body’s identity has not been completed. TNN
