Jaipur: The All India Cricket tournament and National Multi-Sports Championship got underway with great enthusiasm at the Railway Ganpati Stadium here on Thursday.The event is being organised under the joint aegis of Litsa Cup – BTSS, Bharat-Tibet Samnvay Sangh, Jay Janani Sansthan and CODI Group, bringing together leading institutions committed to promoting sports culture across the country.The cricket tournament, which will run from December 11 to 14, features eight competitive teams – KD Travel Faridabad, VATS Sports Cricket Academy Agra, Sporting Club Delhi, DSA Railway Jaipur, 3S Club Ghaziabad, Jaipuria C Academy Jaipur, CA-L Lucknow and C-A Udham Singh Nagar Uttarakhand – competing for the national title.Dr Daisy Sharma, Asst. Professor University of Rajasthan, Jaipur welcomed the chief guest Bhuvnesh Sharma, Additional Advocate General, Government of Rajasthan and Chairman, Bar Council of Rajasthan and other teams.The tournament was formally inaugurated by Bhuvnesh Sharma, who performed the ceremonial toss and addressed the participating teams. In his remarks, Sharma emphasised the role of sports in building discipline, physical fitness, team spirit and leadership among the youth, noting that such platforms contribute significantly to nation-building and character development.Anu Gupta, Founder Jai Janani Sansthan, highlighted that the primary vision of this national event is to encourage young sportspersons from across India to embrace competitive sports while fostering values of health, unity and responsibility toward society.The championship is being guided by the dedicated leadership, Vandana Jha (Founder – Litsa Cup), Anu Gupta, Founder Jai Janani Sansthan, Shiwani Bais, Founder Come on Do it and Amita Sharma (Co-Founder – Jay Janani Sansthan).Rajiv Jha, National Convenor Sports Wing BTSS, underlined the transformative impact of sports in society and expressed confidence that the participation of teams from various states would elevate the tournament to new heights.Shivani Singh Bais, Founder – Come On Do It Women’s Group, said that the event witnessed strong enthusiasm from young athletes from across the country, making the opening day vibrant and full of promise for the days ahead.The opening day of the All India Multi-Sports & Cricket tournament at Jaipur Railway Ganpati Stadium witnessed two exciting matches, adding momentum to the newly inaugurated championship.In the first game, KD Travels Faridabad defeated VATS Sports Cricket Academy by nine wickets after restricting them to 105/7 in 20 overs and successfully chasing the target at 106/1 in just 10.3 overs, driven by a brilliant unbeaten 48 from Rahul Dahar and a solid 43 from Aakash Antil.The second match saw Jaipuria Cricket Academy Jaipur overpower 3S Club Ghaziabad by 61 runs, posting an impressive 215/6 with Toshit Bhatia’s explosive 78 off 38 balls and later bowling out the opposition for 154, despite spirited knocks from Yudhveer and Rajat Singh. The thrilling performances set a promising tone for the tournament’s upcoming fixtures.
