Jaipur: More than a thousand passengers were stranded at Jaipur airport Saturday after IndiGo cancelled 27 pairs of flights. The passengers demonstrate at the airline’s counters and demanded fare refunds. They said they received no information from the airline on whether their flights were delayed or cancelled.Abhishek Gautam, an IndiGO passenger bound for Bengaluru, said that after completing check-in, passengers were kept waiting for hours at the departure gates with no information on the departure time. “After waiting for more than five hours we decided to cancel the trip and asked for fare refund. Two hours later, IndiGo finally cancelled the flight with the promise to refund the fare online,” said Gautam.Sanjay Kaushik, a tour operator from Jaipur, said the situation on Saturday was better than on Friday, with flights on some profitable sectors arriving and departing, albeit delayed. Airport authorities said they provided real-time flight updates through the airport’s mobile app. “The airport has added 90 extra seats and deployed more manpower,” stated an official. tnn
