Jaipur: Rajasthan chief electoral officer Naveen Mahajan said Monday Rajasthan is fully prepared for the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls, to be conducted from Oct 28, 2025, to Feb 7, 2026. The state is among 12 participating in the second phase of national voter roll revision exercise. Mahajan said Rajasthan has 5.48 crore registered voters, whose verification will be carried out by 52,469 Booth Level Officers (BLOs). “Of these, 2.61 crore voters are above 40 years of age, with nearly 77% mapping completed, while mapping of 2.88 crore voters below 40 is underway,” he said.Instructions have been issued to divisional commissioners, district election officers (DEOs), and electoral registration officers (EROs) for reorganisation of polling stations, training of BLOs and supervisors, coordination with political parties, media management, and awareness campaigns to boost online applications.Mahajan said recognised political parties will be briefed on all aspects of the revision, including BLA appointments and the role of BLA-2, to ensure transparency and greater participation. Awareness drives will also be organised in schools, colleges, and panchayats, with self-help groups and Rajsakhis encouraging women voters to register. The ‘Book a Call with BLO’ feature on the Election Commission’s ECINet app has seen encouraging participation, with nearly 5,000 voters already using it to connect with their BLOs.All state electoral rolls have been uploaded and the Rajasthan CEO’s website. Mahajan said family lineage mapping is being conducted to link voters with family members from previous rolls, reducing the need for document verification. “The Election Commission is committed to a transparent, inclusive revision process ensuring every eligible citizen’s participation in democracy,” Mahajan said.
