Kota: The bodies of all four persons, including two govt school teachers, who were swept away in a car while crossing an overflowing bridge near Gagron Fort in Jhalawar Sunday, have been recovered, officials said Monday.The victims were travelling in an Alto when they attempted to cross the Changeri Pullia, a low bridge over the Kalisindh River, despite heavy water flow. Locals had cautioned them against it, but the vehicle was swept away by the strong current. Two bodies and the car were retrieved within three hours of the incident Sunday afternoon. The victims were identified as Neeraj Singh Shekhawat (49) of Ganganagar, currently posted as a govt teacher in Kudayla, and Hari Ballabh Khati (60) of Kudayla village in Kota district. Search operations continued through Monday, when the remaining two bodies were recovered. SDM Jhalawar Abhishek Charan said the body of Lekhraj Saini (35), a resident of Kudayla in Ramganjmandi subdivision of Kota, was pulled out of deep water around 1:30pm, within a 10-metre radius of the spot where the car had been located. The fourth body, identified as Venugopal, a resident of Sambhar in Jaipur and also a teacher at a govt senior secondary school in Kudayla, was found around 6pm. Mandawar police station SHO Mahaveer said three bodies were handed over to family members after post-mortem Monday, while the fourth was placed in the mortuary for examination.
