Jaipur: North Western Railway (NWR) Friday cancelled 22 trains for operational reasons ahead of Cockroach Janta Party’s (CJP) proposed protest in Delhi Saturday. This has affected connectivity between Rajasthan, Haryana and the national capital.Of the 22 trains, five connect Rajasthan with Delhi or other stations, while the remaining 17 primarily serve Haryana-Delhi and Ahmedabad-Delhi routes and adjoining sections, according to a route-based classification of the consolidated list.Passengers travelling to Delhi from Udaipur, Ahmedabad and Sriganganagar are likely to face inconvenience due to the sudden cancellations applicable from Friday night. However, NWR has clarified that regular trains to Delhi will continue to operate.Chief public relations officer (NWR) Amit Sudarshan said, “Only trains reaching Hazrat Nizamuddin and New Delhi had been affected. The regular trains to Delhi, including two Vande Bharat trains, one double-decker, Ashram Express, Puja Express and Malini Express, remain unaffected, as per orders.”The cancellations cover Oct 9, 10 and 11. Among the affected long-distance trains are the Sabarmati–New Delhi service (12957), cancelled on Oct 9, and the New Delhi–Sabarmati service (12958), cancelled on Oct 10. The Udaipur City–Hazrat Nizamuddin train (12964), scheduled to depart on Oct 9, and its return service (12963), scheduled for Oct 10, have also been cancelled.The cancellations apply to trains scheduled to arrive between 4am and 2pm Saturday.The Sriganganagar–Tilak Bridge train (14727) was cancelled on Oct 9, while its return service (14728) will remain cancelled on Oct 10. The Sirsa–Tilak Bridge service (15308) is listed as cancelled on Oct 10 and 11 in the two notifications.The remaining cancellations mainly affect passenger connectivity between Haryana and Delhi, including services on the Rewari–Delhi, Delhi–Rewari, Hisar–Delhi, Hisar–New Delhi, Bhiwani–Tilak Bridge and Sirsa–Tilak Bridge routes. Several services are cancelled on Oct 10, with some also affected on Oct 9 and 11.
