Jaipur: Chief secretary V Srinivas Thursday directed officials to expedite construction of Isarda Dam, a key component of the ambitious Ramjal Setu Link Project, as well as drinking water distribution works linked to the project.During his visit to Tonk, Srinivas reviewed the progress of the dam and directed officials to maintain the pace of construction and speed up land acquisition for the project.He also reviewed the progress of Jal Sanchay-Jan Bhagidari Abhiyan in Tonk and directed officials to ensure active participation of the public, Bhamashahs and water user organisations in water conservation works.He said Jal Chaupal programmes should be organised in rural and urban areas, and priority should be given to the construction of water conservation structures. The district collector should regularly review the campaign in coordination with the departments concerned and inspect the water conservation works, he said.The CS reviewed works being undertaken under the campaign by the rural development and panchayati raj, local self govt, water resources, groundwater and forest departments. He also directed officials to organise Jal Arpan programmes in rural areas where works under Jal Jeevan Mission have been completed and formally hand over the drinking water projects.During the visit, Srinivas also inspected Cyber Police Station in Tonk and reviewed measures being taken to control cybercrime and provide quick relief to victims.
