Jaipur: A Jaipur consumer court has ordered the arrest of two senior Jaipur Development Authority officers, including JDA Commissioner Siddharth Mahajan, after the authority allegedly failed for years to give a resident possession of a plot allotted to him under a housing scheme.District Consumer Commission-II, Jaipur, Thursday issued arrest warrants against Mahajan and JDA Zone-9 Deputy Commissioner Suryakant Sharma. It directed the Jaipur police commissioner to arrest both officers and produce them before the commission on Oct 12.The order came during the hearing of a contempt complaint filed by Jaipur resident Krishna, who alleged that JDA had not complied with the commission’s earlier order in a case related to Nilay Kunj Housing Scheme.Krishna had applied for a plot under the scheme and was allotted Plot No. 454 through lottery. However, he was not given possession even after a year. He then moved the district consumer commission. After nearly four years of proceedings, the commission in 2016 directed JDA to issue him the possession letter for the allotted plot.JDA challenged the order before the state consumer commission, the national consumer commission and Supreme Court, but failed to get relief.Krishna filed a contempt petition in 2020, alleging that JDA still did not follow the order. He told the commission that despite its direction, Plot No. 454 was allotted to another person. He was later allotted Plot No. 7 in Nilay Kunj Scheme Phase-II and deposited the full amount. But he alleged that JDA subsequently changed the layout and reduced the plot’s front width, preventing him from getting actual and complete possession.
