Churu: Class 12 Arts students of Govt Senior Secondary School, Tal Maidan, Sardarshahar, Churu, Thursday alleged that a teacher beat them with a stick for not wearing school uniform, prompting students and parents to protest outside the school.Parents alleged that some students bore injury marks on their hands and claimed that one student fainted during the incident. Students also alleged that the teacher, Gaurishankar Sharma, abused them. The parents demanded his removal.School principal Jaiveer Singh said some students regularly came to school without uniforms and were asked during the morning assembly to follow the dress code. “Some students opposed the instruction. I am not aware of any student being beaten,” he said.Speaking on the protest, Singh said a meeting with students and parents would be held Friday, after which a report would be sent to the block education officer. Block education officer Shubhash Songra said, “We will examine the allegations and conduct an inquiry. Action will be taken based on the findings.”
