Jaisalmer: The district administration will conduct an operational trial of 11 electric sirens installed across Jaisalmer under the Air Raid Warning System Wednesday.A team from the Directorate General of Fire Services, Civil Defence and Home Guards under the Union home ministry will conduct the trial between 10 am and 1 pm. The sirens were installed during Operation Sindoor.The administration has asked residents not to panic or pay heed to rumours if they hear the sirens during the three-hour exercise, saying the sounds will be part of the scheduled trial.The trial will assess the functioning and technical arrangements of the sirens.In-charge Officer General Rohit Verma has directed officials concerned to coordinate with the ministry team and the Civil Defence Centre in Jaisalmer to ensure all 11 sirens are tested within the stipulated time.The sirens are installed at Sabji Mandi at Gopa Chowk, the District Collector and District Magistrate’s Office, CPWD Guest House, Trauma Centre at Jawahar Hospital, Rani Mahal at Sonar Durg, Municipal Council Office, Sunset Point at Suli Dungar, Sulabh Toilet near Maheshwari Hospital, Sabh Bhawan at Revant Singh Ki Dhani, Tana Ashram in Police Line Kachhi Basti and Sabh Bhawan in Indira Colony.
