Jaipur: City police arrested three doctors Tuesday in connection with a fatal hit-and-run in Jawahar Nagar on Sept 22, where a speeding Thar allegedly rammed into a scooter and dragged it for nearly 15 metres. Investigators reviewed approximately 400 CCTV recordings across a 100-km radius to trace the SUV and identify its occupants.The victim, 24-year-old Vijay Paswan, succumbed to his injuries at SMS Hospital on Sept 27, five days after the Sept 22 collision. Police detained Dharmendra Kadwa, a resident of Didwana-Kuchaman, alongside Chittorgarh residents Yatharth Hans and Rajesh Dhakad. All three are foreign medical graduates working in Jaipur; they had come to take part in a protest.Jawahar Nagar SHO Sarla Yadav stated that CCTV footage along the suspected escape route was analysed to determine the registration details. Police subsequently detained Hans and Dhakad in Salasar. Based on their statements, Kadwa was summoned to the police station and taken into custody. The Thar has also been impounded.The incident occurred around 12:30 am at the Uday Marg intersection in Raja Park. Paswan, originally from Uttar Pradesh, had moved to Jaipur three years ago and worked at a local eatery in Adarsh Nagar. According to the police, Paswan was delivering food on his scooter to friends at Jawahar Nagar Tila No. 7 when the Thar struck him while crossing the intersection.The impact trapped Paswan and his vehicle underneath the SUV, which dragged them before speeding away. Paswan sustained severe trauma to his head, shoulder and hand. He was admitted to SMS Hospital trauma centre and underwent head surgery before passing away during treatment.
