Jaipur: Rajasthan BJP has turned its attention to the upcoming panchayati raj elections following the urban local body elections set to conclude next week. BJP national president Nitin Nabin is scheduled to engage with party workers, office-bearers, and senior members in a series of programmes lined up for Friday.Nabin’s itinerary includes five key events, highlighted by a crucial review meeting at chief minister’s residence and a public representatives’ conference at Dadiya near Bagru along Jaipur-Ajmer National Highway.A senior BJP functionary said, “The meeting at the chief minister’s residence will include MPs, MLAs, divisional in-charges, and co-in-charges, along with members of the proposed panchayat election management committee. The party aims to review its performance in the urban local body elections, assess electoral feedback, and devise strategies for the panchayat polls.”BJP state president Madan Rathore emphasised the value of Nabin’s consultations, saying, “The national president will discuss our performance in the urban elections, the feedback we’ve received, and the current ground situation before outlining directions for the panchayat elections. We plan to incorporate the lessons from urban elections into our strategy for the rural polls.”This review is particularly crucial as BJP failed to secure a clear majority in several areas in the urban local body elections. During the meetings, MPs and MLAs are expected to contribute insights from their constituencies, while election in-charges will focus on election management and organisational strategies alongside Nabin.Following the review, Nabin will proceed to Dadiya for a public representatives’ conference commemorating the birth anniversary of Pandit Deendayal Upadhyaya. Newly elected councillors, candidates from the urban elections, and party office-bearers will be in attendance. “Nabin will address the gathering and is scheduled to flag off 90 campaign vehicles intended for the panchayat elections,” Rathore added. “These vehicles will traverse rural areas to promote govt schemes and development initiatives, marking the initiation of BJP’s grassroots campaign for the panchayat elections.”The day will conclude with Nabin interacting with the youth at the Birla Auditorium, where he will engage with students from across Rajasthan. This segment will concentrate on youth-related matters and encourage greater participation in the organisation. A party worker said, “BJP has been formulating a broader strategy to connect with youth at a national level, and the Jaipur programme is a vital part of that outreach.”
