Kota: Panic gripped Bundi city’s Kotwali area Sunday morning after a married couple was found dead inside a locked first-floor bedroom of their house in Brahmapuri neighbourhood.The deceased were identified as Abdul Hanif (40), who worked as a tailor, and his wife Roshan (38).The couple’s nine-month-old daughter was asleep with grandparents on the ground floor.The incident came to light around 7:15am when a relative went upstairs and checked on the couple. Upon finding the main door and stairs locked from the inside, the relative climbed up to the window and looked through inside, only to discover the woman hanging to ceiling fan while her husband lying dead with a blood-stained wrist.On a report of the incident, a police team led by City Kotwali circle in charge Ramesh Arya arrived at the scene, broke open the locked door and recovered the bodies. Forensic evidence was collected before the bodies were shifted to the district hospital mortuary .The woman was found hanging from the ceiling fan while her husband was lying dead with slit wrist on the floor, circle inspector at Bundi Kotwali Ramesh Arya said, adding that preliminary investigations indicated the couple died by suicide due to domestic disputes and personal health issues.“The deceased couple lived on the first floor while the husband’s parents lived on the ground floor. The wife, Roshan (38), suffered from thyroid problems, and the couple frequently had small arguments,” the CI said.“During the night, Abdul Hanif (40) slit the veins on his hand. His wife, Roshan, committed suicide by hanging herself from the ceiling fan using a dupatta (scarf) while standing on the bed. Both died on the spot, and no suicide note was found at the scene.”A case was registered under Section 194 of the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita (BNSS) for suspicious death and the bodies were handed over to the family after post-mortem later in the day, he said.
