SOG arrests tutor who allegedly coached aspirants using leaked exam papers

Jaipur: The Special Operations Group (SOG) Thursday arrested a 45-year-old man in connection with the 2022 School Lecturer (Agricultural Science) recruitment exam paper leak case. Police alleged the man purchased the leaked question papers, coached candidates using them, and helped them secure govt jobs. He was arrested from Chomu after the Rajasthan High Court dismissed his plea seeking protection from arrest.Additional Director General of Police (SOG) Vishal Bansal identified the accused as Vinod Kumar Jat, alias Vinod Rewad, a resident of Papadiya Ki Dhani under Jaipur Rural’s Renwal police station. Police alleged that Rewad purchased leaked question papers of four subjects for nearly Rs 50 lakh, subsequently charging candidates for coaching sessions based on the leaked materials ahead of the exam.According to SOG, the investigation found that the alleged kingpin of the racket, Anil Kumar Meena alias Sher Singh, procured the question papers from former Rajasthan Public Service Commission (RPSC) member Babulal Katara for around Rs 60 lakh. The solved papers for agricultural science, economics, geography and physical education were allegedly circulated among selected candidates before the exam.Police alleged that Vinod purchased the solved papers of all four subjects and charged agricultural science aspirant Ashok Kumar Yadav Rs 7 lakh for coaching him with the leaked paper. Ashok was later selected as a school lecturer and posted at Govt Senior Secondary School, Devarala, in Sikar district.SOG said Vinod is also accused in the 2021 sub-inspector recruitment exam paper leak, the 2022 senior teacher recruitment exam paper leak, and the 2021 village development officer (VDO) recruitment exam paper leak cases. In the SI paper leak case, police had announced a reward of Rs 50,000 for his arrest. He was arrested in Odisha in 2025 after allegedly supplying leaked papers to eight candidates and charging about Rs 10 lakh from each.Investigators further alleged that he collected around Rs 57 lakh from 29 candidates in the 2022 Senior Teacher paper leak case. In this case, accused Arun Sharma alias Rajesh Sharma has already been arrested. A court remanded him to SOG custody till July 20 for further interrogation into the paper leak network, his associates and the alleged money trail.
