Jaipur: Abhyuday Rawat emerged as the professional gross winner in the two-day Lt. General Himmeth Singh Memorial Golf tournament (monthly medal – first) organised here recently at Rambagh Golf Club.The tourney concluded with a prize distribution ceremony. Abhyuday Rawat emerged as the professional gross winner, while Girraj Khadka finished as the runner-up.In the amateur gross category, Anas Shamsi won the title pipping Deepkaran Thakkar to the second spot.During the prize distribution ceremony, winners and runners-up across various categories and handicaps were felicitated.Lt General Himmeth Singh’s name is closely associated with the development of Rambagh Golf Club.After Independence, the club was going through a difficult phase with limited resources. At that time, Lt. Gen. Himmeth Singh was among the key individuals who took responsibility for managing and advancing the club. Along with other members, he worked with great dedication and planning to contribute to its development. His efforts led to improvements in the quality and structure of the golf course, enhancement of facilities, and the promotion and organization of golf in Jaipur. Though he was not the founder of Rambagh Golf Club, he played a crucial role in its post-independence growth and helpedtransform it into a prestigious and well-organised golf institution. In other words, Lt. Gen. Himmeth Singh made a significant contribution in stabilizing and elevating Rambagh Golf Club during a challenging period.On this occasion, senior golfers including Dr BK Jain, Dr Raghvendra Singh Chaudhary, Treasurer Girraj Agrawal, tournament committee convener Dr Himanshu Sharma, and executive members such as Sunil Shekhawat were present.Winners and runners-up in handicap categories were as follows:Handicap category (0–9): Winner: Arjun Kuchhal; runner-up: Rudra RajeshwarHandicap category (10–16): Winner: Aditya Bhardwaj; runner-up: Yuvraj SinghHandicap category (17–24): Winner: Prashant Tyagi; runner-up: Suryajay SinghIn the best legend golfer category, Dr BM Rathore won, while Dr Pradeep Chaturvedi triumphed in the best senior golfer category.
