Woman, two goats killed in Bolero hit-and-run in Barmer

Jaisalmer: A woman and two goats were killed in a hit-and-run after a speeding Bolero Camper hit them on the Bharat Mala Road in Barmer district on Monday morning, police said.The woman was identified as Badli Devi, wife of Krishnaram, a resident of Bawdi Kalan village in Chauhtan. She was heading to the fields to graze goats when the accident occurred at Bawdi Kalan (Meethe Ka Tala village) in the Dhanau police station area.Police said the crash happened about one kilometre from Bawdi village towards Dhanau when the Bolero Camper, coming from the opposite direction, struck her and the goats. Badli Devi and two goats died on the spot.Hearing the impact, locals rushed to the site. Police said the driver fled, leaving the vehicle and its goods on the road.Dhanau police reached the spot and seized the Bolero Camper. Badli Devi was taken to Chauhtan Hospital, where doctors declared her dead.Her son, Shravan Kumar, filed a report. After the post-mortem, the body was handed over to the family. Police said further investigation is ongoing.
